The newly constructed artificial turf in the Bremang community in the Suame Constituency of the Ashanti Region, has been ripped apart by a ferocious wind just a year after it was constructed.
In a video circulating on social media, the facility which was constructed in late 2022 at an estimated cost of ¢2.5 million, the artificial carpet is ripped apart by string winds.

The facility, one of many artificial turfs built by Ghana Gas, was commissioned as recent as January 2023.

During the commissioning, board member of Ghana National Gas Company, John Darko expressed hope that the facility will mitigate rampant drug abuse among the youth due to idling and lack of beneficial engagement.
If that was the aim, the current state of affairs does not support the realization of that goal.
