Asante Kotoko won the first instalment of the Super Clash against Accra Hearts of Oak amidst controversy.

The Porcupine warriors came from behind to beat Hearts of Oak 3-2 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium thanks to a goal from Isaac Oppong and a brace of goals from Steve Mukwala.

However, the manner of Kotoko’s second goal has raised a lot of eyebrows.

Replays showed there were two incidents of offside play in the sequence of play that led to the goal.

First, Kotoko’s Peter Amidu Acquah looked considerably offside when he recycled the ball for Isaac Oppong to shoot.

When Oppong’s shot was saved by Hearts keeper Richmond Ayi, Steve Mukwala was also in an offside position when the tucked home the rebound.

However, the goal was allowed to stand as Kotoko went ahead to bag maximum points.

Kotoko have now won five out if six matches in all competitions, and four in five in the league.
