Former Hull City captain Curtis Davies could make his debut for Sierra Leone against Somalia in Morocco at the age of 38.
Davies was initially approached by Leone Stars manager, Lars-Olof Mattsson, about a potential call-up in 2013 when the player was with Birmingham.
After turning down that call up, Davies did not expect to be approached again and certainly not a decade later.
“I was like, ‘You know I’m 38, right?’” Davies said.
“It’s always been a big thing in the back of my mind, but I didn’t think the opportunity would come again.”

Due to a previous registration by the English FA during Davies’ Under-21 days, the 38-year-old will need international clearance to represent Sierra Leone.
In the interim, the center back is still eligible to feature in today’s unofficial friendly match between Leone Stars and Somalia.
Speaking about the possibility of making his debut for Sierra Leone, the former Aston Villa and Birmingham defender said: “It will be amazing. I’m proud to be English and proud to be Sierra Leonean – more so because I never expected it to come.
“The fact that it’s come this late in my career almost makes it more special.” he concluded.
If all goes well, Davies could be part of the Sierra Leone team when they begin their World Cup qualifying campaign next month in a group containing Egypt, Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Ethiopia and Djibouti.
