Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Benard Antwi Boasiako known popularly as Chairman Wontumi says he will do everything within his power to clear his name.
He says claims that he insulted the King of Ashanti are false and an attempt to create a bad name for him.
Wontumi who has been summoned by the Kumasi Traditional Council, says he in no way insulted the King and has proof and evidence to back him.
“There was a little bit of confusion during the vetting process, and I said this is my kingdom. I never denigrated the King and I will never do that because he knows I have the greatest of respect for him. People who are doing this have an agenda against me but I will do everything within my might to ensure that I am a free man,” he said in an audio which has since gone viral.
