Ghana’s Senior Women’s National team, the Black Queens have been nominated in the women’s team of the year category of the 2023 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards.

The nomination is in recognition of Ghana’s outstanding form under coach Nora Häuptle in the year under review.

Nora Häuptle has managed an unsullied record as Queens coach since taking over the management of the team.

The Black Queens have qualified for the third round of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers and are also in the Second and final round of qualifiers for next year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with a game against Namibia at hand.

Nora Häuptle’s team have won all eight competitive matches and have scored 31 goals in the process without conceding a goal.

The Black Queens will be competing for this accolade with the likes of Nigeria, Zambia, South Africa, Morocco, Burkina Faso, Malawi, Burundi, and Senegal.
