Kennedy Agyapong has named Minister of Works and Housing and Bantama Lawmaker Asenso Boakye and two others including a former CJ in alleged land grabbing without evidence.

The Assin Central Lawmaker accused his Bantama counterpart and State Housing Company Chief Executive Kwabena Ampofo Appiah Popularly known as Vyrus as well as a former Chief Justice of allegedly planning to appropriate state land.

Speaking to delegates of Bantama Constituency to woo them to support his brother Ralph Agyapong, Kennedy Agyapong said he has a dossier on the incumbent Bantama MP.

Kennedy alleged that the Ministry of Works and Housing under Asenso Boakye allegedly appropriated the residence of late Justice Marful-Sau, a Supreme Court Judge.

Kennedy Agyapong said there was a collusion between a former Chief Justice and the sector Minister to sell the official residence of the late Justice Samuel Marful-Sau citing Nana Appiah Vyrus as well.

But in a statement, the Ministry of Works and Housing debunked the claim as false, adding that residence is under the Government Redevelopment Programme (GRP).

“The Ministry strongly refutes the allegation and states that there has been no such sale of the property. The facts are that the current development taking place at the official residence of the late Justice Marful-Sau forms part of the Government Redevelopment Programme (GRP).

“For the avoidance of doubt, the said land has not been sold as it is mischievously been alleged and remains the property of the State. The GRP is rather a cost-effective undertaking which ultimately gives optimal benefit and ensures efficient use of government lands,” the Public Relations Unit explained.
