Legendary Ghanaian musician Samini has leapt to the defence of Black Stars captain Andre Ayew following fan criticisms after Monday’s AFCON draw.
The Black Stars of Ghana are in danger of consecutive AFCON eliminations after Monday’s 2-2 draw with Mozambique.
The Stars raced into a 2-0 lead through Jordan Ayew’s brace of penalties before conceding two stoppage time goals.
Andre Ayew who gave away the penalty that sparked the come back, has unsurprisingly been criticised for his role in Ghana’s capitulation.
The Black Stars captain handled the ball in stoppage time, to concede a penalty to Mozambique.
The penalty was converted, sparking a remarkable turnaround as Mozambique added a second goal minutes later.
Sharing his views on X, Samiti said there was little Andre ayew could have done.
Wow smh. I’ve been trying to type but nothing makes sense to me Chale. 2:0 and then almost full time you say what ?? Cut Dede a slack if you got a hand ball, cmon shit happens. Can someone explain to me what this goal keeper was trying to say after he touched the ball and started…

Egypt’s 2-2 draw with Cape Verde in the group’s other match means Ghana are now in third place with two points.
Cape Verde finish as group winners with seven points, while Egypt finish in second place with three points.
There is a slim chance, however, that Ghana qualifies.
Currently ranked 5th among the 3rd place teams, Ghana can only qualify if Zambia, Algeria, Cameroon all lose their last group games.
Cameroon face Gambia, Algeria face Mauritania and Zambia face DR Congo.
