Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton, has accepted responsibility for Ghana’s stoppage time capitulation against Mozambique.

The Stars surrendered a two-goal lead in six stoppage minutes to draw 2-2 with Mozambique in their last Group B game at the Olympic Stadium in Abidjan on Monday night.

Speaking to journalists after the match, Hughton said,”I take responsibility for this performance and admit my results with the Black Stars have not been good enough.”

Egypt’s 2-2 draw with Cape Verde in the group’s other match means Ghana are now in third place with two points.

Cape Verde finish as group winners with seven points, while Egypt finish in second place with three points.

There is a slim chance, however, that Ghana qualifies.

Currently ranked 5th among the 3rd place teams, Ghana can only qualify if Zambia, Algeria, Cameroon all lose their last group games.

Cameroon face Gambia, Algeria face Mauritania and Zambia face DR Congo.
