The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Effutu constituency, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has resourced the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) with a huge donation of brand-new office equipment aimed at easing the challenges facing them
The items include air conditioners, desktop computers, efficient printers, comfortable swivel chairs for the staff, study file cabinets for organized document management, reliable landline telephones, and well-equipped workstations and among others.
Afenyo-Markin who double as the Deputy Majority Leader of Ghana’s Parliament, also promised an ultra-modern Immigration Service office which, according to him will be ready and commissioned on May this year and pediatric ward as well.
“I want to make Effutu Municipal immigration Service a welcome place to be. I have been in a public service before so I know what it is when you get to the office, you have nothing to sit on, the heat and even don’t have computers to work on. It’s rather demonizing when you are public service and tools for work are unavailable. So by the grace of God I have made all these items available without leaving a single thing out to make the sector better place to work with” Afenyo-Markin stated.
