Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has praised Mohammed Kudus for his brilliant performance in Ghana’s 2-2 draw with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Kudus scored a brace of goals on his AFCON debut at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, as Ghana won their first point at the tournament.

Gyan could not hide his excitement and captured his thoughts in a simple post on X, formerly Twitter.

After receiving a pass from Salis Abdul Samed, Mohammed Kudus took another touch before rifling it past Mohammed El Shenawy in post for Egypt.

His second was less audacious, as his shot from inside the box deflected of Ahmed Hegazy, ans past El Shenawy for Ghana’s second.

That effort drew another comment from Ghana’s all-time topscorer, Asamoah Gyan.

Kudus’s brilliance display was not enough as a mistake by Osman Bukari was punished by Mostafa Mohammed.

Ghana are now bottom of Group B with one point from two games.

The Black Stars need a Cape Verde win against Mozambique today, to stay alive in the Group.

Ghana will then have to best Mozambique by a high scoring margin on Sunday, to stand a chance if qualifying.
