The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hajia Lariba Zuwera Abudu, has proceeded to the Tamale High Court to contest the parliamentary primaries results of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Walewale constituency held on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

An injunction filed by his lawyer Sylvester, counsel for and on behalf of Plaintiff /Applicant and sighted by MyNewsGh.com, reads it part  “it is hereby ordered that the defendants are restrained by themselves, their agents, assigns, workmen and all out the is defendant as the New Patriotic Part/s candidate elect for the Walewale Constituency for the 2024 Parliamentary elections and submitting the name of the 1st defendant to the New Patriotic Party Office as the candidate elect in the 27 January 2024 New Patrictic Parliamentary primaries for the Walewale Constituency”.

The court indicated that the order shall held for ten (I0) where after the plaintiff/applicant may come on notice to the defendants.

Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama, the Technical Advisor to the Vice President, floored the Incumbent Member of Parliament for the Walewale constituency who doubles as the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Lariba Zuweira Abudu in the NPP parliamentary primaries.

Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama obtained 343 votes beating the Gender Minister who secured 334 votes.

Other aspirants Tahiru Shaman (Veron) secured 145 votes while Mahama Jangdow managed with 1 vote.
