Dexter Scott King, born in 1961, is the son of the iconic civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King.

While often overshadowed by his father’s immense legacy, Dexter has carved his own path as an advocate for social justice and animal rights.

Following in his parents’ footsteps, Dexter initially focused on the fight for racial equality. He served as president of the King Center for Nonviolent Social Change, promoting his father’s philosophy of nonviolence through education and activism.

However, Dexter’s interests soon broadened to encompass animal welfare. He became a passionate advocate for veganism, viewing it as an extension of his commitment to nonviolence and compassion towards all living beings.

Dexter’s journey as an activist has been marked by both triumphs and challenges. He has faced criticism for his outspoken views, including his belief in a government conspiracy surrounding his father’s assassination.

Sadly, Dexter Scott King died after he battled prostate cancer. He died on Monday, January 22, 2024, at the age of 62.

Did Dexter Scott King Have Kids?

No, Dexter Scott King is not married and has no kids. Leah Weber King, his longtime companion, and he were married in 2013, although they haven’t made any family-planning announcements in public.
