The football gods have a great sense of humor as per Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s latest misfortune.

The Leicester City winger was sent off for a dangerous tackle in the Foxes Championship match at Coventry City.

Issahaku will now miss two Championship matches and one FA Cup match as he serves a three match suspension for the straight red card.

The Ghanaian international will be available for selection in the second week of February, the same week the Africa Cup of Nations ends in Ivory Coast.

In December, Issahaku informed Ghana coach Chris Hughton of his decision to opt out of Ghana’s squad for AFCON 2023.

He was subsequently left out of the final list of 27 players chosen to represent the country in Ivory Coast.
