Dorgeles Nene scored one of the best goals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON 2023) in Mali’s 2-1 defeat to hosts Côte d’Ivoire.

Mali could not take advantage of their numerical superiority as they missed a first half penalty and were ultimately eliminated.

The West Africans took the lead after 70 minutes through a sublime finish from the Ivorian-born Dorgeles Nene.

The Red Bull Salzburg midfielder found space curled in a beauty from distance to open the scoring.

However, Mali conceded a stoppage time leveller when substitute Simon Adingra scored for the hosts to force extra time.

Tried as they did, the hosts could not make their numerical advantage count.

The come back was complete when Omar Diakite flicked home Seko Fofana’s shot in the second minute of extra time stoppage time.
