A video has emerged revealing the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hajia Lariba Abudu, threatening to kill anybody who stands in her way during the New Patriotic Party(NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Walewale constituency on Saturday, January 27, 2024.

“Somebody will die, you want someone to die before you win the elections then someone will die”. She threatened openly in Mampruli at the venue where the closely fought parliamentary polls was taking place

Information gathered by MyNewsGh.com also indicated that the Minister verbally assaulted the constituency Women’s Organiser for not supporting her but rather her opponent, the Technical Advisor to the Vice President, Dr Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama.

Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama, the Technical Advisor to the Vice President, floored the Incumbent Member of Parliament for the Walewale constituency who doubles as the Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Lariba Zuweira Abudu in the NPP parliamentary primaries.

A calm and collected Dr. Tiah Abdul-Kabiru Mahama obtained 343 votes beating the Gender minister who secured 334 votes.

Other aspirants Tahiru Shaman (Veron) secured 145 votes while Mahama Jangdow managed with 1 vote.

Sources from the grapevine reveal that the embittered lawmaker is seeking an interlocutory injunction against the outcome of the polls with the claims her request for a recount which is her right was dismissed.

Political pundits are however of the view that she could be courting the disaffection of constituents and may end up being more unpopular in her bid to litigate the outcome of the polls.
