The purported ‘showdown’ between Lawyer Raphael Agyapong and Francis Asenso Boakye took a dramatic turn on Saturday, January 27, 2024, when both engaged in what could pass for a singing competition.
The incumbent Member of Parliament(MP) and Minister for Works and Housing, Asenso Boakye had just returned from his morning devotion and at the polling station was overheard singing a popular gospel worship to wit “What God has ordained shall come to pass”
Lawyer Raphael Agyapong recomposed the same song indicating that the same God has ordained Asenso Boakye will be a one-term MP to the shock of onlookers.
Both were heard singing their versions of the song which was started by the lawmaker as voters looked on in shock and wondered what could be amiss.
A couple of weeks ago, Lawyer Raphael Kwame Poku, told his closest contender who is the incumbent MP, he has only one term.
Hon Asenso Boakye after vetting was placed at number 1 on the ballot while Lawyer Ralphael was second on the ballot.
However, speaking to the media after a successful vetting, Lawyer Ralphael Kwame Poku stated that, Mr Asenso Boakye picking one on the ballot means he has only one term in Parliament.
“He has only one term. Picking one means he has one term so he should go home and rest. I’m going to win”. Mr Ralph Kwame Poku said at the NPP Ashanti Regional Headquarters after his vetting.
