As the New Patriotic Party(NPP) prepares to conduct its internal elections to elect parliamentary candidates across various constituencies, where the party has sitting Members of Parliament (MPs), some concerned delegates in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese(AAK) have admonished the party to endeavour to present a marketable candidate to face the parliamentary hopeful for the opposition National Democratic Congress( NDC), Mr Felix Ofosu Kwakye.
Speaking to MyNewsGh.com’s reporter, Hajia Asana Gordon, the concerned delegates led by one Evans Ansah feared that the incumbent MP, Mr. Morris Donkor who defeated Ofosu Kwakye by 170 votes during the last parliamentary elections in the year 2020, will lose the seat to Ofosu Kwakye, if delegates mistakenly vote for him again.
“Presenting Elvis Morris Donkoh to face Ofosu Kwakye in the 2024 General Elections is a “cool chop” for the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC)”, they warned.
“We are ever ready to change Elvis Morris Donkoh to Kobina Nyanteh to face Ofosu Kwakye since AAK NPP is not ready to lose the seat for NDC”, the delegates insisted.
The worried delegates further stated that Mr Nyanteh who is known in politics as Etudur has done tremendous work within the AAK constituency by touching the lives of people, as well as establishing a one-million-Cedi solar irrigation plant at Aboase to serve the communities within the catchment area.
According to them, Ofosu Kwakye who is an alien to the constituency and not known to the people is not a match for Etudur.
