Some members of Ghana’s contingent at the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cameroun were attacked by angry supporters after Sunday’s 2-1 loss to Cape Verde.

Moments after Ghana lost its opening Group B game to Cape Verde, some fans stormed the team hotel in Abidjan to express their displeasure.

Although Black Stars defender Daniel Amartey was caught in the confusion, he left the situation unharmed.

Things got out of hand when an individual identified as Fatawu Mohammed confronted Black Stars coach Chris Hughton and verbally assaulted him.

Fortunately for the Ghana coach, some members of the entourage intervened before things could escalate any further.

Ghana face Egypt on Thursday in their second Group B encounter.
