Chairman for Manhyia South, Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori Atta, has said that most chiefs in the Ashanti Kingdom are known sympathizers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He says that because of this, the chiefs in Ashanti will never drag up issues regarding the NPP.
Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori Atta said the Chiefs can never do anything to make the political party unpopular.
“Manhyia, some of the chiefs are our uncles. Kwame, the party’s strength is in the Ashanti region, and a number of them are members of the NPP, but because they are chiefs, they can’t reveal their positions. Kwame, do you think they will drag this issue down to make the party unpopular? No,” he said in a radio interview.
Meanwhile, the Kumasi Traditional Council cleared Chairman Wontumi on Monday, January 29, 2024, after he was said to have used some derogatory words against Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
