Former Deputy Youth Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Edem Agbana has called for the prosecution of the Sports Minister over Ghana’s poor showing at the AFCON.

He alleges that the Black Stars have now become an avenue for making cash for people around the team.

According to Edem Agbana, it will be imperative for the government to set up a committee to investigate the Black Stars’ shambolic performance and the money spent at the competition in which Ghana could not go past the group stages.

“Look at the shambolic performance that we saw. President Akufo-Addo who was playing politics with the performance of the Black Stars in 2014 but under his leadership, we are not able to qualify out of the group stages.

This is because we have a leadership that is only interested in syphoning money. They see AFCON as an opportunity to steal. There must be a committee, and people must be investigated and prosecuted. The Sports Minister must be number one; GFA officials must follow,” he said on TV3.
