The Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) has called on the leadership of the University of Ghana to bring to book students involved in parading a young man believed to be a member of the LGBTQI+ community.

CDD, in a statement, said the act was barbaric and should not be countenanced in a university community guided by rules and regulations.

It has also called for the school to initiate an investigation into the matter and provide the young man who was manhandled with medical and psychological support.

On Monday, videos of a young man who was being paraded through the streets of the university naked over claims that he was a member of the LGBTQI+ community.

While he was being paraded, he was being given some lashes by some students who seemed to be against members of the LGBTQI+ community.
