A Memorial Service in honour of a Former Minister of the Interior under the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mark Owen Woyongo will be held in Accra on January 31, 2024.
The event according to his family will be held at the Christ the King Catholic Church, Cantonments, Accra for the 78-year-old former lawmaker for Navrongo Central in the Upper East Region.
Mr. Mark Woyongo according to Mr. Awini Zingi of Nayagnia who is the Head of the Woyongo family, died on Wednesday 17th January, 2024 at the Bank of Ghana Hospital in Accra where he was on admission receiving treatment.
News of his death came barely a month after he buried his son Kenneth Kwotua, who died at age 49.
He revealed that he was in the first instance not interested in contesting the Navrongo Central seat on the ticket of the party in 2016, but was pressured by the party to do so while they groomed someone to succeed him.
