The Majority Chief Whip and the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has brought to light an alleged plot devised by a prominent figure within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to undermine his candidacy in the upcoming parliamentary primaries.
Annoh-Dompreh suspects that this influential figure is backing his rival, aiming to derail his quest for an uncontested candidacy.
Despite facing these challenges, Annoh-Dompreh remains resolute, stating, “The senior party figure sponsoring my opponent holds negative sentiments towards me, but I am confident in my victory. I anticipate securing 80% of the votes on January 27th,” as disclosed during an appearance on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show.
He claims to have identified the scheme early on, attributing it to personal animosity from the influential party member.
Annoh-Dompreh remarked, “Two of my competitors have joined forces against me, but their efforts will prove futile.”
According to him, he perceives the upcoming primaries as the easiest challenge in his political career, relying on his positive contributions and accomplishments in the Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency.
Expressing appreciation for the party’s endeavors, he emphasized the NPP’s noteworthy road construction projects in the constituency and confidently declared, “I am positioned as number one on the ballot and ready for triumph.”
In contrast, his primary contender, Hayford Siaw, CEO of the Ghana Library Authority, views the challenges faced before nominations as a form of liberation and victory.
With unshakeable confidence, Mr. Siaw envisions securing 70% of the votes in the impending primaries.
