Reigning champions Senegal laid down the marker when they wiped the floor over 10-man Gambia.

African youth player of the year Lamine Camara scored a brace of goals on his AFCON debut while Pape Geuye scored the other in a 3-0 win.

Pape Gueye opened the scoring for the Teranga Lions after just fpur minutes when he fired home from a Sadio Mane pass in the box.

Gambian midfielder Ebou Adams was shown the tournament’s first red card for an off-the ball challenge just before half-time.

Lamine Camara doubled Senegal’s lead with a low finish after the break and curled in a classy third from distance.

Senegal are now top of Group C, ahead of Cameroun’s opening match versus Guinea at 17:00 hours GMT
